Spot rubber resumes upward journey

Spot rubber resumed the upward journey on Wednesday. RSS 4 improved on covering purchases to 125 (123) a kg, according to traders. The grade firmed up to 124 (123) and 120 (119) respectively according to the Rubber Board and the dealers.

 

June futures flared up to 128.47 (126.65), July to 131.68 (129.18) and August to 132.74 (130.47) on the National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE). RSS 3 (spot) slid to 118.54 (119) at Bangkok. May futures inched up to 109.55 (109.39) on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM). Spot rubber rates (/kg) were: RSS-4: 125 (123); RSS-5: 122 (121); ISNR 20: 120 (119.50) and Latex (60% drc): 88 (86.50).
